Diskeeper 2007 will offer a free update to support Vista
We've had a number of questions on this:
When Diskeeper 2007 officially supports Vista (a few weeks away), the update build will be free to anyone who owns Diskeeper 2007.

Purely out of curiosity, is the defragmentation method significantly different in Vista (i.e. placement of system files etc) or is it pretty similar to XP ? Not after any trade secrets ;-) just interested in the technical differences. Cheers

I assume you are asking if what Diskeeper does in XP is different from what it does in Vista. The answer is yes and no, but mostly no.
The NTFS file system version in Vista is identical to XP (NTFS v3.1 as of RC2). There were major changes to the file system in Win2k (NTFS 3.0) over NT4 (NTFS 1.2) and then major updates to the defrag API in Win2K and XP that allowed all defragmenters to do increasingly more. That degree of change to relevant APIs doesn't exist in Vista.
There are some new technologies in Vista that need to be addressed. I'll discuss the differences in detail once we've released the product.

hello
we need help downloading this software
why?

Hi Van. If you are referring to the Download Manager that you use as a customer to get the software, there are several reasons. For those who purchase multiple products (i.e. Diskeeper 2007 Server, Professional, and Administrator) they need only click one donwload link that will get all the products for them. The manager can also resume downloads, from where you left off, should your connection be broken (i.e. you won't need to restart from the beginning). It also increases the security of the download process.

As I've upgraded to Diskeeper 2007 (great product by the way) and now have the official 64-bit Vista, how will I actually install Diskeeper on 64-bit Vista? As it's an upgrade, I need to install, 9, 10 and then 2007. Will 9 & 10 even install on 64-bit Vista?

Right now the plans are for only Diskeeper 2007 to support Vista.
Anyone with Diskeeper 2007 or a vlid maintenance contract will receive this update free of charge.

When is the upgrade to Vista for Diskeeper 2007 be available? Will it be available via the upgrade checking facility in the program?

How will the update work? The current version cannot be installed in Vista.
