Diskeeper 10 beta for Vista RC1 (build 5600) is available

The Diskeeper 10 Professional Edition beta for Vista has now been updated to support Vista Release Candidate 1 build 5600.

We've already begun testing on Vista build 5728 and hope to have a Diskeeper 10 beta next week for that update.

I'm glad to see Diskeeper is updating for Vista. I think most Vista testers are using the latest build (5728)to be honest though. I'm stuck with [product name removed] for the time being I guess.

I'm crossing my fingers, but I hope to have this update (5728) available for everyone in time for the weekend.

Nice; any plans for a build working on vista x64 (5728) ?

Unfortunately no, the public betas will stick to x32. Prior to releasing the "official" Diskeeper version for Vista we will run a private beta. That private beta will include x64 and all Diskeeper editions with full functionality.

BTW, the Vista 5728 beta looks more like Monday, due to other priorities taking up our tester's time.

Will the Vista 5728 beta support boot time defragging ? Just curious as I know it wasn't functional in previous builds of Diskeeper. I haven't tried the current one as I'm running 5728. Thanks again.

As you pointed out, bootime defrag is one of those features that the Diskeeper public betas do not support. That will continue to be the case for the public versions. The private beta will include this feature.

Given Vista's release-date fluctuations, I'd say that there will likely be a new version of Diskeeper before Vista is available. If that holds true, the new Diskeeper version would be the product that officially supports Vista.

Michael,
In light of RC2 Release (October 6th), will the DK version planned for Build 5728 also be compatible with Build 5744 (RC2)?

Thanks

Apologies if this is a double post, but in light of RC2 (5744) Release on October 6th, will the updated version that you were working on for Buid 5728 be compatible with RC2?

Thanks,
Greg

Hi Fernand. Please send an email to service@diskeeper.com. Should you choose, you are entitled to a free upgrade to Diskeeper 2007 (assuming you purchased 30 days prior to Oct. 17).

I installed the beta diskeeper on a dual boot system (x/p & vista) useing 2 primary partions. I used diskeeper while running the vista O/S on the X/P O/S it worked with no problems. My ? would this work in reverse ie diskeeper 10 with Win X/P on a partion with vista? both O/S are on same drive

Hi Phillip,
This will work fine. I have the same setup as you (XP/Vista dual boot) and have personally run it in this manner.
